This certification is a hands-on, practical certification aimed at ensuring the concepts and theories covered in all prerequisite certifications can be applied to various real-world use cases and scenarios. In this certification project, candidates will be provided with documented business scenarios and use cases along with a customer data set and access to a ThoughtSpot instance. This certification is designed to test an individual’s actual ability to turn a set of customer requirements and data into a ThoughtSpot implementation complete with Models, Answers, Liveboards and users and groups with appropriate data security. Each certification candidate must deploy the appropriate administration, schema, and analytical features needed within ThoughtSpot to accomplish the stated objectives.
A Certified Platform Engineer has proven they can administer and manage a ThoughtSpot environment in this capstone project. They will have created a user and group security management structure and enabled the most appropriate authentication methodologies. They will have deployed various security methods including object level, table level, column level and row level security to ensure their ThoughtSpot data is secure. They will have evaluated customer requirements and implemented data modeling choices and resolved challenges like multiple join paths, recursive hierarchies, chasm traps and fan traps. They will have connected to an existing data warehouse and created models, so that users can access data and ask questions on their own with an intuitive, searchable data experience.
A Certified Platform Engineer has proven their ability to use ThoughtSpot as an end user, at a very advanced level, to answer the stated customer analytical requirements of this project. They will have chosen the best approach among alternative ways of getting answers from the data. They will have written complex formulas, used the most powerful keywords, and handled data aggregation challenges. They have designed and built effective Liveboards utilizing all interactivity functionality such as standard-, cross-, and mandatory-filters, tabs, and notes.
